Located in High Heworth, Gateshead, the ground offers one of the best views of cricket for spectators in the area, providing a welcoming and family-friendly environment for players, supporters, and visitors alike. High Heworth Lane has hosted a number of high-profile matches over the years:

John Wright Testimonial – A match against New Zealand international John Wright’s Derbyshire team.

Tyneside Senior League vs Australian Old Collegians (1980) – An exhibition game featuring the touring Australian side.

Arnie Sidebottom & Madan Lal Testimonial Match (1988) – Madan Lal’s Indian All Stars, including Kapil Dev, Manoj Prabhakar, and Ashok Malhotra, faced a near full-strength Yorkshire CCC team in a joint benefit for both legends. The game attracted around 2,000 spectators. Highlights included Kapil Dev’s whirlwind 58 off 25 balls and Yorkshire’s Jim Love scoring 89 and Andrew Hudson 61 to secure victory with two overs to spare.
